Users can optionally follow one central neighborhood feed with posts from their own and surrounding neighborhoods – useful for those living on the edge of a neighborhood or wanting to be more involved.

At the request of many municipalities and associations, Hoplr users can now discover events and activities in nearby neighborhoods. This increases the chances of encounters and participation in local activities, strengthening social cohesion within the municipality. From neighborhood parties to cultural events, users now have a comprehensive overview of everything happening in their area.

New overview of classifieds:

We are moving classifieds and giveaways to a separate and convenient overview. This keeps the feed clearer. In addition, just like with activities, Hoplr users can now also discover classifieds and giveaways in nearby neighborhoods. This not only supports the circular economy within the municipality, but also increases the chances of encounters between neighbors.

What’s new?

  • An overview of all classifieds and giveaways within the municipality or within a 5 km radius.
  • Ability to filter by distance, category, or own neighborhood.
  • Users can indicate whether their classified is visible only in their neighborhood or also beyond.
  • Classifieds and giveaways can be turned off in the neighborhood feed, and notifications can be set separately.

The option to follow adjacent neighborhoods:

This is undoubtedly the most requested feature of all time. Hoplr users will now optionally be able to follow adjacent neighborhoods in one central neighborhood feed. Think of citizens living on the edge or border of a neighborhood, but also of people who want to stay informed about what is happening in the town center.

  • Hoplr users can optionally follow adjacent neighborhoods.
  • The neighborhood feed shows posts from their own and followed neighborhoods.
  • Only basic information (name, profile picture, municipality, neighborhood) is visible from users in other neighborhoods.
  • Users can choose whether their post is visible only in their neighborhood or also to followers.
  • Posts from local governments remain visible only to neighborhood members.
